Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides straightforward, simple techniques to master for home cooks in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. The chef Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. She also has learned about Italy's food traditions and the culture of Italy, and the surrounding environment. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. Her passion was for food and restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute that I was a student of The Culinary Institute of America she states. Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic opportunity to pursue a degree. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. While in Italy, she developed a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. It is a huge influence on how Burrell cooks. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to improve the quality of life for children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of the dangers of childhood diabetes.
